Through our words, we create our world. The experience we are presently having was brought into being by our thoughts, words, and deeds. We can choose to create positive healing experiences where we benefit both ourselves and others. Or we can create destructive experiences, which bring suffering to all involved. In Proverbs 13:3 it says, “He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.” Again in Proverbs 16:24 it says ” Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.”

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama says in one of his beautiful quotes “Everyday, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.”

To benefit others as much as I can. This is the dream of my life as well. If each of us were to apply these healing words to our lives, what a difference we might make. For the words we say either build ourselves and those listening up, or they tear us apart, and bring destruction and suffering.

May I invite each of you to begin this new year by choosing to use your words for the healing and uplifting of both yourself, and all others with whom you interact. You have the potential to bring life and healing to any situation.

To begin we must fill our hearts and minds with healing thoughts, and words to use as needed in our daily lives. Here are some suggestions to begin with. You may seek more from any source you find healing and inspiring within your own faith.

“I Seek to understand, to forgive, to accept, to love unconditionally in every situation.”  (Kerrie UniFaith)

“I am Free from Fear, for it is Love that is guiding me.” (Kerrie UniFaith)

“The Universe guides me in all that I do.” (Affirm Your Life blogspot.com)

“I am a Magnet for all the good that life has to offer.” (Affirm Your Life)

“Walk in Love’s Anointing Today; Be Kind, Joyful, Peaceful and Subtle. Let G’D Love Others Through You.” (Given to me by my friend Philip Gekas)

“A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a hostile world. Everyone you meet is your mirror.”  (Positive Thinking Quotes)

“Positive and Negative are Directions. Which Direction Do You choose?” (Positive Thinking Quotes)

“A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart.” (Matthew 12:35)

O mankind!  There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Quran), and a healing for that which is in your hearts.” (Quran 10:57)

“And We send down from the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe…” (Quran 17:82)  (Health in Islam at islamrelgion.com)

“You are like a candle. Imagine you are sending light out all around you. All your words, thoughts and actions are going in many directions. If you say something kind, your kind words go in many directions, and you yourself go with them. We are …transforming and continuing in a different form at every moment.” Thich Nhat Hanh

In closing I would like to share with you this beautiful prayer from Abby Willowroot (I found this at spiralgoddess.com)

Make Me Strong in Spirit

“Make me strong in Spirit

Courageous in action

Gentle of heart

Let me act in wisdom

Conquer my fear and doubt

Discover my hidden gifts

Meet others with compassion

Be a source of healing energies

And face each day with hope and joy.”

Abby Willowroot (c) 1998

To each of you I wish a beautiful new year, filled with healing words and healing energy for yourself and all with whom you interact. May the G’D who loves us all from every faith and race; deeply Bless you in your walk with the Divine. Namaste.

Freedom from Fear

As we approach the new year, I pray the peace of G’D which passes all understanding to keep your hearts and minds at peace, no matter what the new year may bring. Know this, G’D is King of the Universe, and He is able to take care of each of us, no matter what.

In considering ways to live a life free from fear one tool you can utilize is the power of praise; which is available to each of us at all times. No matter the circumstances we face, when we choose to release our fears by simply praising G’D and trusting in his ability to carry us through whatever we are facing; our entire perspective on life changes. No longer do we feel anxious or fearful, instead we feel peace and joy in knowing that no matter what the day may bring, G’D will work everything together for our good. Praise is the key to set you free from your fears!

Here for your contemplation is one of the most famous scriptures in the Hebrew Bible dealing with fear.

Psalm 91

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.a I will sayb of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the Lord, who is my refuge— 10then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Peace and Blessings to each and all. May your New year be Blessed.

My note today is from a short but meaningful story found in the Christian Bible in Luke 10:38-42. It tells of a time when Jesus or Y’Shua which is his Hebrew name; went to the home of some friends to visit. While the one sister named Martha, was busy preparing the meal; the other sister, Mary sat at Y’Shua’s feet listening to him talk to her brother Lazarus and his disciples.  Now Martha got upset that Mary had left her to do all the work. She came to Y’Shua and said to him “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” His answer was not at all what she expected. He said “Martha, Martha you are worried and bothered about so many things, but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Now on the surface it may appear that he was uncaring towards Martha, and her request for help. But was he really? I think the answer is in his reply. Look again with me at what He said ” you are worried and bothered about so many things” and “only one thing is necessary.” “Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Y’Shua was not being uncaring towards Martha, he was trying to give her the opportunity to choose to experience her life differently. How often do we miss things in our own lives, that are taking place right before our eyes. When we are so busy and preoccupied, we do not see or experience what is happening in our life at the present moment at all. Filling our lives with busyness, worry and frustration we miss out on the peace we can find by stilling our thoughts and listening at the feet of the Master. When we take time to choose that still quiet inner place, instead of the usual rush and worry of our lives, we too can commune with the Divine. When we begin our day with quiet reflections, before the daily rush begins it will make a remarkable difference in our day.

There was nothing wrong with what Martha was doing. She deeply loved Y’Shua just as her brother and sister did. Her way of showing her love, was to prepare food and serve him. To serve others is one of the most honorable things we can do. Obviously serving is important, for where would we be without the Martha s of  the world. “There is an appointed time for everything,…” as it says in Ecclesiastes 3:1. While we all must take time to complete our daily allotted tasks, it is  vitally important to take time to simply sit at the master’s feet and listen. For until we have taken time to fill ourselves with the master’s love, we will not be able to properly serve others. We will simply run about worried and bothered by many things.

When we chose to spend quiet time with the Divine, we are then equipped to be present in our daily life. We will be able to take part in the events we are surrounded by. Sitting at the Master’s feet fills our hearts to overflowing with love; this gives us the ability to show everyone we know, how much we love and appreciate them.

When you find yourself worried and bothered by many things, pause and chose again. Allow yourself to choose the good part, the only thing that is necessary. To sit still at the feet of the Divine, and allow G’Ds love to fill your being.

Today, I chose to be present in my life, and to be a part of all the simple beauty that G’D has blessed my life with. Will you join me, at the masters feet?

To each and all of you my friends I wish all the Blessings that G’D in his great love for you, has to offer. As you celebrate with family and friends that which you hold sacred and dear I hope all your celebrations are Blessed. Happy Hanukkah, a  Blessed Yule, Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanzaa to each as is appropriate to your beliefs.

Namaste,  Kerrie UniFaith

For years I have beat myself up emotionally with guilt over what I considered to be my big mistakes, and failures in life. I created situations to punish myself, because deep down I believed I was a failure, and did not deserve any better.

On my journey over the past few years I have begun to deeply contemplate the art’s of allowing and acceptance. Then today, I had an epiphany! I am not a failure after all, and I will explain to you why, in addition to the fact that no matter how many times you think you have messed up in life; you are not a failure either. The only thing es cue is our perspective.

First let me go a little deeper into both allowing and accepting. Allowing involves realizing that everything is as it should be for our present creation. Before we ever manifested here in this physical life we choose the experiences we needed or wanted to have, in order to expand our experiential knowledge of all that is. Without these experiences, these so-called “mistakes,” we would not have the understanding or empathy for others that we possess due to our past experiences. Allowing is about going with the flow of your life, rather then resisting it. Fighting the current of the river will only wear you out. Life is not about the destination; it is all about the journey that we are experiencing now.

Here are a couple of quotes on the art of allowing for your contemplation.

“Accepting, allowing and interacting with your life as though it is exactly as it should be, without making yourself wrong (or right) for what you discover; it is the way to Self-Realization.” ~ The above quote was written by Ariel Kane.

“Through allowing, you become what you are; vast, spacious. You become whole. You are not a fragment anymore, which is how the ego perceives itself. Your true nature emerges, which is one with the nature of God.” This quote was written by Eckhart Tolle.

“You are the only one that can deem yourself worthy or unworthy. You are the only one who can love yourself into a state of allowing, or hate yourself into a state of disallowing. There is not something wrong with you, nor is there something wrong with one who is not loving you. You are all just, in the moment, practicing the art of not allowing, or the art of resisting.”

This quote is from Abraham Hicks.

So in summary of allowing, it is loving ourselves and accepting our lives as they happen, without resisting the experiences we are given. Even as water flows over falls, around rocks and through rapids in its journey to the sea; so will we encounter turbulence on our journey. Fear it not, for it is all part of the ride.

In further contemplation of acceptance we see from a broader perspective as if looking through a wide-angle lens or flying on the back of an Eagle. It depends only on how much we will allow ourselves to see, and understand at this moment in time. The bigger the picture we perceive, the better we will see how our life fits perfectly into the vast living tapestry, of which we are each an intricate part.

No longer are we limited to the mundane experiences of our ordinary life. We can embrace the deepest love of our life, and find that love is our-self. When we fully embrace ourselves with love acceptance, and forgiveness, our burdens will melt away. We will see in the bigger picture that all is as it should be. Our life is a beautifully intricate part of the very heart of G’D.

Here are a few quotes on acceptance for your contemplation.

“Wherever you are, be there totally. If you find your here and now intolerable and it makes you unhappy, you have three options: remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it totally.” Quote by Eckhart Tolle.

“A total acceptance of yourself brings about a total transcendence of yourself.”

This quote is by Adyashanti.

“When you are at one with the universe, the universe replies with total acceptance.” This quote is from Mr. Prophet.

In summary of acceptance of ourselves and all that we have created in our life;  the more we can open our heart’s through love and acceptance of ourselves as we are in this moment in time, flaws, mistakes and all the more our life will be transformed. When we are in full acceptance of ourselves we can extend this gift to others as well. What a gift is to allow both ourselves and others to create the life experiences we both need to have on this journey, and to accept everyone as they are without demanding that they live according to our plan.

“Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves without any insistence that they satisfy you.” Quoted from Wayne Dyer.

G’D, Goddess, The Great Spirit, Allah, Adonai, whatever name you call the Divine, has already accepted and loved us more than we can presently imagine. May I right here and now invite you to do the same? Simply love and accept yourself as you were, as you are now, and as you will yet come to be.

In conclusion, if it were not for the experiences we each created with the many people in our lives, we would not be the same amazing people we are today. We would not have our present level of empathy for others, or be able to give love to anyone at all.  The art of allowing and accepting is made possible when we begin to love ourselves, as G’D already loves each of us.

My epiphany is, that You and I are not failure’s after all my friend, for we never were failure’s at all. We only thought we were. With a simple change in perspective we can transform our lives.

Namaste with much love to all as you create the amazing journey of your life.

As we all get ready for the Holidays and all the hustle and bustle involved, remember less is truly more. When we stop and focus on the real meaning of the season; all the rush, hurry and expense becomes unimportant. What really matters is spending time with the ones you love, not money. Love to a child is spelled TIME. (see June 3rd entry)

Some of the best Christmases when I was young were actually ones where we all made gifts for one another rather than purchasing gifts. I also think that doing kindnesses for others less fortunate than ourselves is a wonderful way to celebrate any Holiday. I think you will find that if you do a minimum of five kind deeds a day you will be much happier, and far more satisfied with your life then any amount of new things can ever give you.

As you plan your Holiday and go about shopping for the ones you love, may I suggest you find ways to keep it simple and give both yourself and your family the gift of loving time spent together doing things you all enjoy. After all Christmas isn’t about getting that expensive new toy, it’s about love, peace and good will to all mankind.

Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, a Blessed Yule and Happy Kwanzaa to each one as you celebrate with family and friends what is truly meaningful and sacred in your life.

Namaste with love to all!

All children equate love by the time you spend with them doing things together, most especially things that they enjoy. (see my post on June 3rd, From A Child Love is spelled TIME by Mac Anderson and Lance Wubble)

My son Joshua has Aspergers syndrome, which causes him difficulties in social settings and in some of his academic studies. He does extremely well in science, which is what he is interested in. He was struggling so much in school that I withdrew him and at first tried home schooling him using a standard selection of text books for him to use. He was very resistant to this method, and it became a great struggle for both of us to attempt to get him to learn this way as with his acute visual and audio learning styles the books did not capture his attention.

Then about one year ago, after much searching online I found an online educational program called time for learning. We tried it, and it was an instant fit! We were both so excited! This program is very visually interactive, and makes learning fun for my son in away that books never did due to his learning challenges. In addition when I spend time with him as he does his school work we are able to interact as we discuss his lessons each day in a productive manner.

Another very appealing feature for us about Time for Leanings program is that you can vary the grade level for each subject as needed for your child. This is very helpful for my son with his learning challenges, as he is at different grade levels from one subject to another. He excels in science, and does well social studies due to the geography, which he likes. He struggles in math especially along with Language arts. I am able to put him right where he needs to be in each subject. We really like that!

It is very inspiring to me to see my son actively involved in his education, and actually enjoying it as well. None of us like to see our children struggle, we all long for them to do well and succeed. For my son, Time for Learning is helping with this. He still struggles with math and language, but he is making progress. and that for me is what makes the difference. To see him progress!

Each of us in our daily lives have many things that we struggle with. When we find ways to help both ourselves and our families do better it is not only a relief, it is inspiring to find other people who are dedicated to helping with some of the challenges we do face as parents, like the staff at Time for Learning have been for me and my son. whenever I have called with questions or problem, they have been very helpful to me! For this I am grateful!

Thank you Time for Learning for helping my son, with his education! The very visually interactive media used in this program is far more appealing to him then anything else we have tried. In conclusion, I feel the time I am spending with my son as we go through his schooling together is not only time well spent, it is a gift to both of us as well. For me it is wonderful to see my son making progress!

To each of you my friends, at UniFaith Daily on Facebook, I wish a wonderful day, and much success in all your endeavors.
